COSLA's President, Vice President and Spokespeople attended a Public Service Reform summit hosted by Scottish Government in Glasgow today [Monday 17th February],
Following a Q&A panel session at the summit, COSLA's Vice President, Councillor Steven Heddle commented:
“Councils are a fundamental part of this conversation, and we were pleased to attend today's summit. We welcome the focus on prevention, efficiency, integration and empowerment - these principles have been and will continue to be at the core of the reform councils lead locally and nationally.
"Public service reform is something we should all continue to support, so that public services deliver for the changing needs and demographics of our communities. To provide the best services possible we need to look at how we work across the whole public sector, including local and national government.'"
