The latest meeting of the Joint Social Services Taskforce (JSST) was held on Thursday 30th January.

The JSST brings together key partners from across the social services sector and is jointly chaired by COSLA (through Health and Social Care Spokesperson, Cllr Paul Kelly) and the Scottish Government (through Minister for Social Care, Mental Wellbeing and Sport). It works together to identify, support, and accelerate progress on priority issues affecting the social care and social work workforce over the short and medium term.

Reflecting on the meeting, Cllr Kelly had this to say:

“The JSST is an important forum that reflects COSLA’s commitment to working collaboratively to improve the experience of the social care and social work workforce. The focus of this latest meeting was to consider a range of proposals aimed at delivering swift but meaningful change for this critical workforce, and I was really impressed at the innovative approaches being looked at to implement tangible improvements across the social care system.”
