The International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) is observed annually on December 3rd.
COSLA’s Spokesperson for Health and Social Care, Councillor Paul Kelly, commented on the theme of this year’s IDPD:
“This year’s theme is Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future. This theme emphasizes the importance of persons with disabilities being involved in decision-making processes that affect their lives.”
“This is something we place particular impetus on at COSLA as we look to support localised health and social care delivery with service users at the heart of all decision-making.”
