An impressive lineup of speakers from across Scotland and beyond has been announced for the COSLA Annual Conference and Exhibition 2024 in Crieff this September - a key event in the Scottish Local Government calendar.

The COSLA Conference brings together people from across the public, third, and private sectors to network and discuss the most pressing issues facing communities across Scotland. This year’s event will take place at the scenic Crieff Hydro Hotel in Perthshire, on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th September.

Podcaster, Communicator and Strategist Alastair Campbell, will deliver a keynote address to delegates on Thursday the 19th; when there will also be an address from First Minister John Swinney. Sally Magnusson will chair proceedings throughout the day and special guest Sanjeev Kohli of ‘Still Game’ fame will host the COSLA Excellence Awards, where award winners will be announced in the evening.

A range of engaging discussion sessions are lined up with expert speakers and panellists from across the public sector confirmed, including:

  • A discussion on early intervention and prevention with Karyn McCluskey, Chief Executive of Community Justice Scotland; Graeme Armstrong, Author of ‘The Young Team’; and Maureen McKenna OBE.
  • A political session led by Professor Sir John Curtice, Professor of Politics at University of Strathclyde.
  • An expert panel on the Visitor Levy will include City Councillor and industry expert Ricardo Valente from Porto City Council and representatives from Visit Scotland.
  • A cross-party discussion featuring Scottish leaders and representatives from across major political parties.

With an already packed programme of political and community-focused discussion, and more to be announced, now is the time to guarantee your space by booking.

There are several packages available to suit all requirements – delegates can book for the full two-day experience which includes access to all speaker and fringe sessions, the exhibition with excellent networking opportunities, plus the Excellence Awards Pre-Awards Dinner and Awards Ceremony; with options to attend for only one day if preferred.
