Today, COSLA’s Spokesperson for Community Wellbeing chaired our national 16 Days event, developed in partnership with the Scottish Government, Public Health Scotland, and the Improvement Service.
Joined by around 100 stakeholders from various public protection sectors, participants are working together to strengthen links between VAWG and areas such as Child Protection, Adult Protection, Suicide Prevention, Alcohol and Drugs misuse, and Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA).
Cllr Chalmers highlighted, “On Day 3 of the 16 Days Campaign, today’s gathering brings together a broad range of professionals to explore collaborative opportunities in public protection.
"Preventing and tackling VAWG is everyone’s responsibility. By working together, we can better support women, children, and young people who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing VAWG. The outcomes of today’s event will help us prioritize actions to prevent and reduce harm and improve outcomes for adult and child victim-survivors.”
