COSLA officers joined our Health and Social Care Spokesperson, Councillor Paul Kelly, at an event in Dunfermline on Thursday 12th September.

The event was one of many across the country marking Suicide Prevention Awareness Week, and highlighted some of the vital suicide prevention work happening in Fife and across local government.

Talking about the event, Councillor Kelly commented:

"I attended a powerful event this afternoon to learn about the important suicide prevention work taking place in Fife. Over 20 colleagues from different organisations came together to discuss how we can create hope by improving how we work together.

"Developing and strengthening collaborative partnerships across and beyond national and local government is essential to deliver the outcomes in Creating Hope Together our joint Suicide Prevention Strategy. It is vital that we have opportunities like today to reflect upon ongoing work to prevent suicide, and consider what we can all do to prevent suicide in our communities."
