Councillor Katie Hagmann is the COSLA Resources Spokesperson.
Councillor Katie Hagmann was born and educated in Edinburgh. She attended Napier University gaining a BSc (Distinction) in Complementary Therapies and is a current student at Edinburgh University studying a MSc in Social Anthropology.
First elected to Dumfries and Galloway council in 2017, Katie’s portfolio has included the joint administration lead for Finance, Procurement and Transformation. Working cross party, she co-produced the Council budget along with her administration partner in 2021 and 2022. Returned in 2022, Her current portfolio includes Chair of the Dumfries and Galloway Economy & Resources Committee, and she sits on Finance, Procurement & Transformation Committee as well as Audit, Risk & Scrutiny Committee. She is the Chair of the Local Employability Partnership, a member of the Dumfries and Galloway Economic Leadership Group, Member of the North Channel Partnership Group and a member of the Dumfries and Galloway Housing Forum.
Katie has sat as a trustee and board member on various organisations including the UNESCO Galloway & Southern Ayrshire Biosphere, The Southern Upland Partnership, The Whithorn Trust and has led Wigtownshire Women's Aid as Chair of the Board of Directors. She is currently a trustee of Dumfries and Galloway Youth Orchestra.
Outwith her role at the Council, Katie is a keen gardener and food grower. Time permitting, she enjoys walking, running and mountain biking in the Galloway hills and she is an avid supporter of the arts and champions both her mother as an artist and her son who is a musician.
